THE INHABITANTS
ALL PLAYABLE RACES LISTED HERE!
HUMANS
Humans were not the first to enter the race to the Grand Odyssey, but they certainly were the most influential. See, the thing about humans was, they'd do whatever they needed to do in order to win. Masking themselves with kindness and smiles, they were just as dirty, low-down, and underhanded as any other race within Tamria. Humans were strong, but not he strongest. When it came time to fighting they could easily fare against a multitude of opponents; however, they stood no chance against those with more strength than them. It was usually at this point they relied on their wits to achieve victories.
When it came to weaponry and innovation, the humans excelled in every way, shape, or form-- magic however was a different subject all together. Due to this, the general amount of human players were seen as melee-based classes; magic-based classes optional yet not recommended.
CLASS SUGGESTIONS: WARRIOR, ASSASSIN, MARKSMAN, CLERIC, ENGINEER
CLASS RESTRICTIONS: SHADOW WALKER, SUMMONER
Masters of the wand, unmatched skill with the bow, and pretty decent looks to top it off. These three statements and more match the hi society race known the elves. The elves find themselves rather secluded in the lush forest city of Illune, a city built far away from the other races; and with good reason. The Elves, more than anything, are known for their prestigious academy in which students can learn and harness their talents in all fields of magic and ranged abilities. It's not to say another race couldn't attend their school; they just wouldn't be treated as kindly as their kin without earning it first.
When it comes to the elves, their extremely based on Magic with expertise in Ranged, so seeing them with a melee based class would be rare if done at all. However, if brought with the right team, the Elves can be an asset to any well planned party.
Born from Humans and Elves, Half-Elves are the only race that obtain racially locked quests from both Eldinguard and Illune. With a satisfactory amount of strength and magical mastery; Half-Elves are the most balanced in terms of play-style. Half-Elves hold no grudges against another race, in fact, they are often scorned by their ancestor races; being called: Half Breed, Mutts, Mistakes, and things of that nature.
Half-Elves are the ultimate fill-in race; providing the party with just about any class role the'd need to complete their build. If you're looking for a very balanced play-style with almost every class at your disposal; the Half-Elves are for you.
Scorned, out-casted, shunned, hunted. The Halflings never were considered a part of the fold. The general duration of Halflings consist of thieves, swindlers, dealers, and any other run-of-the-mill shady figure you can think of. After learning of the Grand Odyssey, The Halflings threw their name in the hat for the race to paradise; knowing that if anyone would obtain it, it would be the race that wasn't relevant enough to be noticed.
Halflings in terms of play style are small and quick. They are based around swiftly ending an opponent with their lightning fast attacks and flexibility. If you're looking to go DPS, this would be the race for you.
Dwarves; easily the strongest race within all of Tamria. Dwarves, ever since they arrived in this world, have had their hands on everything and anything; especially when it came to innovation. Dwarves are the first to create, refine, and advance Steam Technology within Tamria. Odd enough, the technology always existed; they were just the ones who found it first. As a matter of fact, Dwarves are so advanced in Steam Technology, they've even created their own brand of fighting via Steambots; known to the game as the class "Engineer".
Dwarves are meant for Heavy Tank and Tactician roles. Due to their size and speed they are able to play the role of an assassin and they know their way around a crossbow as well. There are four different play styles you can follow with the Dwarf; easily making them one of the most flexible races in all of Grand Odyssey.
NOTE: Dwarves are completely anti-magic; so much that they've even gained a resistance to it. For about 15 seconds each match, the Dwarf can use a skill known as "Magic Block" a move that repels all magic-based attacks aimed at the dwarf only. I repeat, this is not a party-based attack.
Werebeasts, as stated in the storyline(which can be found in the navigation), are the oldest race to exist in Grand Odyssey Online; their knowledge of the Grand Odyssey itself far surpassing any other. Werebeasts are separated into three tribes; each with their own strengths and weaknesses. What we're discussing here, is the first tribe and the third strongest race in all of Tamria; Land Crossers(Carnivores).
Led by Cheiftain Mufasa, Land Crossers are aggressive, savage, barbaric, and ruthless when it comes to fighting. They were a proud warrior race but primitive compared to the other warrios. As such, they are often referred to as Tribal Warriors; using spears and other primitive weapons instead of the ones crafted by the other races within Tamria.
In terms of play style, you can expect to see heavy armor tanks; a lot of heavy armor tanks. Werebeasts were meant for close combat; some have even gone as far to make a deal with the great dark diety, Morgan , in order to vasts amount of strength. Though, that didn't mean they shied away from ranged; their skills as a Marksman showing that for sure. Either way, no matter how you play a Land Crosser; expect it to be brutal, and action packed.
Guardians of the sky, protectors of the clouded lands. The Sky Grazers are the second wisest race within all of Tamria; favoring their knowledge over their physical strengths. Sky Grazers represented all winged animals, mainly avians, but accepted any other into their tribe with open arms.
Led by Chieftain Finch, Sky Grazers are narcissistic, egotistical, and cocky. The Sky Grazers believed they were more superior than any other existing race in Tamria; even the Dwarves. Of course, even they had a pecking order; none knew more of the sky than the legendary Draconians.
In terms of play style, the Sky Grazers have one obvious advantage of any other race within the game; their wings. Their wings paved the way for their mastery in ranged combat. Though I wouldn't knock them short; they know their way around a close combat match just as much as the land crossers did. If I were you, i'd keep these in mind when playing a Sky Grazer
NOTE: Sky Grazers are able to gain an advantage using their wings, however, like the Dwarves, they are only able to use the ability of flight for 15 seconds maximum; making it crucial to plan any form of attack against a large party.
The Peace Keepers(Herbivores) were just that, the tribe who, amongst other things, did their best to preserve peace within this world. When the Grand Odyssey's identity was discovered by the other races, they immediately decided they would join the race for the legendary artifact; hoping they could get it done in as peaceful as a manner as possible.
Led by their princess, Ellenor, the Peace Keepers always supported their fellow kin, as such, they had no physical strength or if they did they possessed faint amounts of it. They were better suited to be in the back, making sure their parties were buffed and well healed during their fights.
If you hadn't figured out the play style by now, Peace Keepers are supports, healers, and anything pertaining to that. Of course, I wouldn't count them short in terms of their magic; who knows what a Peace Keeper who no longer seeks to protect said peace will do.
